A Picture... A Moment

Mint from the garden
My herb garden is coming back. Very soon I will have more mint that I would know what to do with it.

Hello Friends,
I've been debating for a couple of weeks wether or not to keep the Friday Link Up. After long consideration I have decided to close the chapter on on this little project. I had such a great time hosting the link up, specially seeing your moments that you shared. I want to thank you all for visiting my little blog and linking up during the short run of the link up. Thank you so much for your support I truly appreciate it.
Spring is a time for new beginnings and I'm looking forward to see what the rest of 2014  will bring. Who knows they sky is the limit.

Triangle Quilt

Happy Sunday! I hope you had a lovely weekend. I had an amazing weekend.  I finally finished my triangle quilt I've been working on. So happy the way it turned out and I even more excited that it is my first quilt finish of the year. Yay! Also, my husband and I took a nice drive to a National Park we have been itching to explore. It is so beautiful we are definitely going to be back and as added bonus it has great spots for photographing quilts :)

Anyway back to this little quilt. I'm totally smitten with the triangle pattern and I want to make more triangle quilts. My triangle rulers makes cutting a snap and piecing so easy. This quilt measures approximately 55X55 inches (I had planned to make it a little bit larger but I ran out of fabric). But still is a good size lap quilt.  I quilted it with a simple meandering pattern. I just took it out of the dryer and is so crinkly! I love it. Now what to do next?

Have a wonderful week!

Shawl Progress

Lately days have been busy and no much time is left for working on my projects but every morning I sneak a few minutes of knitting. And a couple of rows a day my little shawl is slowly growing.

How about you? Did you capture any special moments this week?

Boneyard Shawl

Boneyard Shawl

It seems like spring has arrived around here. Everything has started to bloom and develop new growth. Yesterday we had the most wonderful spring weather. We got a little break from the rain and as you can see on the photos my peach tree is exploding with pink blossoms. It looks like a big cotton candy.

I finally finished my Boneyard Shawl. I started it back in January and it has been such a fun knitting experience. The progress was slow; only knitting a couple of rows a day. I still can't believe it is finally finished.  While at times it felt like a long process I enjoyed every bit of it and I learned so much from this project. Halfway through the shawl I discovered that the technique I was using to do the yarn overs along the spine and the edges was not the right one to get a perfectly shaped decorative eyelet. But I've done so much I didn't want to frog the whole thing and start over. So I decided to keep going and finish it anyways. And I'm glad I did. I love the way it turned out even with its little imperfections. To finish it off I used a sewn cast off technique (which until then I had never heard of it before)  that I learned from this book. If you are interested in knitting or learning how to knit it is a great reference book to add to your library.

There is so much I still have to learn about knitting, but slowly I'm gaining more confidence to try more complicated patterns.  I'm really looking forward to starting my next knitting project.

Have a lovely week!
