Hi, I’m Martha

I’m glad you stopped by. I’m the maker behind Sunday + Honey. I live Central California with my husband and three pugs.

I’m an accountant by day, and every free time I get (specially the weekends) I love to spend it sewing, quilting and gardening.

I grew up in a house filled with homemade, where my mom encouraged us to explore our creativity. So growing up I was always busy drawing, painting, in theater classes, stitching and embroidering. My mom was a professional seamstress and I loved sitting next to her while she sewed. Unfortunately, I never learned how to sew from my mom. I didn't think it was something I was going to like and my mom did all of the sewing for me. So besides sewing up a button here and there I never ventured into sewing.

In 2011 my mom passed from breast cancer. It was very sudden and unexpected. I was at a loss. My husband suggested I should try a hobby and he bought me a sewing machine. While trying to figure out how to work my sewing machine I discovered quilting and fell in love with it. I love how quilting is not only and art expression, but also functional and for me extremely therapeutical.

I love to create simple designs that could become timeless heirlooms in your home.
