Mills and Stars Quilt
A little peak of the scrappy back
Scrappy quilts are without a doubt my favorite to make. I love combining many prints that sometimes I would never dare to put together, but I feel with scrappy quilts there is a freedom in a way to mix prints and colors that their scrappiness creates a cohesion and harmony that it is just magical.
For a while I had wanted to make this pattern (Mills and Star Quilt block), but I had been a bit intimidated by it… I’m not particularly fond of foundation paper piecing and up until now that was the only method I had found this pattern in. However, I recently became an Accuqilt convert thanks to a friend gifting me her little Accuquilt cutter. While browsing the Accuquilt website to learn more about it I found the die for the Mills and Star Quilt block. I was so excited and wanted to give it try. The pattern is so versatile but I wanted to make it my own so I went bold and made the background super scrappy and created my won layout. I love how it turned out. Scrappy and very improv.
Quilt measures 62X62 inches
Until next time
