Double Churn Dash Quilt

I began to imagine this quilt when I was given by a friend some scraps that included some pieces of that very fun trout print. I thought the trouts were so cute and I wanted them to feature them in a quilt as an accent piece rather than them being lost in a scrappy quilt. The scraps were not very big, so I set out to make the most of them. After thinking for a bit, I settled on double churn dash block. I absolutely love how it turned out: the clean lines and the geometric shapes really make the design stand out. Most importantly, all the fabrics came from my stash, feels so satisfying when able to finish a project without needing to buy new fabric.

To complement the quilt design, I quilted it on crosshatch pattern that creates a diamond as a secondary pattern; which at the same time creates a wonderful crinkly texture on the quilt. I think I will be quilting more quilts with this pattern.

Quilt measures at 60.5”X60.5”
