Spring Days… and a New Quilt

Happy Spring!

Here in California everything has begun to bloom. My wisteria was the first one and today as I write this many of the flowers of the garden have begun to bloom. Spring is a wonderful time… always feels like new beginning. And a great time to start new projects. Recently I was gifted some scraps of that beautiful trout fabric and I thought I should make something with with. Thinking about how to use I saw a photo on Pinterest of a double churndash block… didn’t have much information, but I drafted my own in the size that I needed it in order to used the fabric that I have in hand. This block finishes at 17.5 inches and given that I don’t have a lot of fabric to work with (and I want to use what I have), I’m planning to add some sashing when I put the quilt top together.

Can’t wait to share more

Until next time
