Sometimes the simplest quilt blocks make the most stunning quilts. The sixteen patch quilt block is one of the simplest and most traditional blocks in quilting. Yet, playing with colors and patters you can create the loveliest quilts using the block. For the longest time I wanted to make a Sixteen patch block quilt. And while thinking about the size of the blocks I wanted to make I decided to give a little spin to the classic block. So I decided to make it stretched using rectangles rather than squares.
This block comes together so easily. You just need two contrasting fabrics and it is fat quarter friendly. The tutorial that I’ve created gives you step by step instructions in and easy to download PDF document.
